01

Problem

Training videos used human presenters, took days to produce, and required a full reshoot whenever content changed. Introductions also varied between videos, creating an inconsistent learning experience. The challenge was to make Navigator training consistent and easier to maintain.

02

Learners

Internal staff using the Navigator system to support customers and locate specific parts. They needed clear, consistent walkthroughs showing where key items and parts could be found.

03

Design Decisions

  • Worked with subject matter experts to map where key items and parts lived in Navigator before scripting and storyboarding each walkthrough.
  • Produced 10+ Synthesia avatar videos, corrected AI pronunciation, and standardized introductions for a consistent learner experience.
  • Refined each video through manager review and kept scripts and avatars editable so updates took minutes rather than full reshoots.
  • Created a maintainable format with the potential for multilingual versions through voice translation and native-speaker verification.

Evaluation

I produced 10+ videos refined through manager review. Production time dropped from days to hours, and updates changed from full reshoots to edits made in minutes. The editable format also created the potential for multilingual versions through Synthesia’s voice translation, with native-speaker verification. Learner-performance results were not supplied.

06

Reflection

I built the videos to be maintainable: editable avatars and scripts meant a content change no longer required a reshoot. Outdated training could be corrected instead of tolerated. Correcting AI pronunciation and incorporating manager review remained essential to quality, even as production became faster.
